New Adobe Flash loads correctly, says it worked but I can't find the flash player and I keep getting the message that I need to load the udpated player in Safari. I uninstalled the old flash player, restarted the computer and downloaded several times, but it still does not recognize the new player. Where is it on my MAC?

Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content. Designs, animation, and application user interfaces are deployed immediately across all browsers and platforms, attracting and engaging users with a rich Web experience. Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) Rather than letting the Flash Player download the update, try retrieving it from Adobe manually. My wife's MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 is having a problem. - I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called 'universal' software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8. Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.

If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot. - July, 1 2012
Since loading flash player update Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 my YouTube links and other videos sites won't play. I removed the update and they did play. Then reinsdtalled it again and it wouldn't play. My browser is Foxfire 6.0.1Hi,
Did you see the following tech note? It has detailed information about Flash Player 11.3 issues on Mozilla Firefox?

Thanks,
Sunil - I just installed the Flash Player 9 on my Power PC based Mac
OS X 10.3.9 and now no Flash elements work in Safari 1.3.2, or even
Explorer (which I don't use). I have been sure to close all
browsers, uninstall first etc. The installations appears to
complete successfully, but I get the following error message on any
page that has flash:
The page “Adobe” attempted to load an Internet
plug-in named “Shockwave Flash”, but the plug-in failed
to load successfully.
Worse yet, any attempts to install on older version of the
player now give me the same error. I can no longer view any Flash!
If anyone can help (Adobe!), it would be much
appreciated. Many, many thanks to primes235. AFter hours of trying to
uninstall, reinstall, etc., I used his directions (see step 1,
etc., on his 12/16/06 post. I was able to drag those files (enable
file sharing IF you are networked) from another computer, and all
is working fine now. These files were not really invisible/hidden;
just be sure you delete the ones specified before moving the new
ones.
hI am still not sure why this happened, except I was
following directions that I needed to update flash from
ttp://ecard.ashland.edu/2004admission/index.html
Either that site is buggy, or the new flash is. From the
comments before this, I don't expect a reply from Adobe either. I
tried calling them, but no luck. Crappy customer/tech support. Hope
this helps someone, and thanks again primes235. - Hi there,
I am unable to use flash player on a Mac OSX 10.6.4. I have a webcam on my laptop but for some reason flash enabled sites are unable to detect the webcam. The message I receive is 'no camera detected.' I've tried reinstalling flash player numerous times but that hasn't fixed the problem. Looking at photobooth I can see that my webcam is functioning. The webcam was working fine before this latest update. Thanks ahead for any help.Hi, Make sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is Enabled for one thing. I'm not familiar with Webcams so can't help you with that.
If you have Installed Flash Player then test at this site to see if you can see the animation of the Flash logo and what version is listed.

With regards,
Prabhu - For the last several days, I have been pulling my hair with ever increasing frustration as to why this stupid FlashPlayer update won't work.
I am running a new Asus laptop with Windows 7, 64-bit, Intel i5 processor, and I use both IE and Firefox.
My computer work perfectly, exactly as a new one should. Then one day, I went to YouTube, and it said I needed to update my software. I clicked the link, it took me to the Adobe website to update FlashPlayer, I downloaded it per instructions which are not new to me. And it didn't work. So I went back to the Adobe site and started trouble shooting. I've uninstalled the current FlashPlayer software from my computer and tried reinstalling. I've tried doing this and then rebooting my computer. I've tried downloading Adobe's uninstall software, downloading Flash again, then rebooting. I've tried disablling my internet security settings and turning off my anti-virus. I tried using IE as my browser. I tried using Firefox. I tried going through the plug-in update utility that Firefox offers. I've tried multiple combinations of all of the above. I even tried calling the Asus tech support to see if there was something on their end. The CSR and I quickly exhausted any further trouble shooting avenues she could think of. I have never had such a problem with this software on other computers and laptops I've owned and used. My brother's laptop installed the update just fine, and he can use video on the internet.
*bashing face on keyboard*
I am not a noob. When the limit of skills at my level of computer savvy is reached, there is something ridiculoulsy wrong on the software provider's end, and I am beyond annoyed. I did not choose for Adobe to have such a monopoly on internet video and imaging. If FlashPlayer doesn't work, there's almost no point to using the internet at all. Yet in order to get help over the phone to try and resolve this issue, I'm supposed to pay Adobe $40?!?! This is an outrage! I realize use of the internet is not the most important thing in life, but it is a large part of life in this culture and time period regardless, and I am very inconvenienced. I also feel angry about this because I feel like I'm being bullied. $40 for tech support? For a program that I am forced to use in order to access the internet properly? Ridiculous.
It is my belief at this point that there is an error or bug in this new version of Flash. I have never had any problems with this software before, and there's no reason why a practically brand new computer should have any trouble using it. I've tried every trick I can think of to get FlashPlayer to work. I challenge someone from Adobe to make me look like an idiot. Please. Humilliate me and tell me there's yet something simple that I'm not seeing. I welcome being told that I am in fact still a noob. Just get this stupid software issue fixed, so I can resume my pathetic introverted existence. Thank you.Okay, here is the WOW64 log.

=X M/11.1.102.55 2011-11-20+23-46-38.245 - I have just updated to the latest ver
sion of Flash Player (10.2.152.32) and now You Tube will not play videos - I get sound only. I am using IE8 and Windows XP SP3
Shockwave Flas Object is showing as installed and enabled.
What is wrong? I have uninstalled and reinstalled and all messages show installtion as complete but still no You Tube video although when I have click Adobe test aniamtion links these work OKHi, There is new Technology with the latest Flash Player version that you may need to adjust a Setting.
You may want to go to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,
then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you may need to update your Video card Driver.
Now one thing I'd like to mention is that the Adobe Flash Player Team are wanting to document issues with the latest Flash Player version and issues such as you and others are having. If you would like to give them feedback directly, it would be appreciated as they are trying to duplicate these in house. The link to that is:

eidnolb - Hello,
I run an Intel-based Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.9. Latest Firefox
(2.0.0.4) and Safari browsers.
Everything seems to be fine when I install Flash Player 9.
Until the install software brings up my default browser (Firefox)
to 'adobe's successful installation screen' where I don't get the
message, rather I get the message I must install Flash Player..
and there we go again.
I've tried installing it 3 times, rebooting everytime;
I tried uninstalling it, reboot, and installing it again X2;
Now I don't know what to do.. can anyone help me please?
New version of adobe flash player for mac. Thank you!!I have the EXACT same problem. i cannot find a solution, this
is the first post ive read where someone has the exact same
problem. Mac powerbook g4, powerPC processor, OSX Tiger, Firefox.
Flash was working fine up until today for me.
Now movies give me the message;you must have adobe flash
player 9 installed'. when i try to install player it finishesthe
install then brings up Firefox Adobe page, which says additional
plugins are needed, when i click on the plugins install, it takes
me thru the install then says 'failed' with the option to install
manually, which takes me back to the original download page. i have
tried untinstalling, restarting, changing internet plug.
preferences...anyone ..help???? - Flash player does not work under one of my user accounts.
My system: I work with a mac mini with Mac OS X 10.6.8.
What I have done:
I installed the flash player maybe one year ago under my 'first' user account. At that time this user account had had administrator authorization. In the meantime I had to change this 'first' user account in an account without administrator authorization and created an administrator user with which I installed different programms. Lately, the message came up that it would be necessary to update the flash player. I did it; under the 'first' user account, but of course with the administrator's password for installing. The installation had been 'successful' - so I was told. But it did not run. I tried it again and again. Each time with 'deinstallation' first. No way; it did not work.
After asking Adobe for the reason of the problem, they suggested to install the programm directly under the administrator user. I did that (of course after deinstalling under the 'first' user account) with the result, that flash player runs under my administrator and my 'second' user account, but not under the first user account. There I am always told to update my flash player.
With this result, I talked to Adobe. So they told me to contact the producer of the operating software, since this would be a mistake of the operating software.
And here I am - full of hope to get help from you.
Thanks for reading. And thanks in advance for helping me.
Nanny FSAny update to provide at all here guys? Again, in my situation, it's very much rights-related as a standard user doesn't even report that the flash player exists when testing it on the Adobe Flash Version Detection website (despite it showing up in Control Panel and under Add/Remove Programs). I've already tried giving the C:WindowsSystem32Macromed and files/subfolders appropriate permissions for the standard user and still nothing. If I either give the user in question full local admin rights or logon as the domain admin, then the Adobe Flash Version Detection website says Flash is installed and Flash works fine.
Thoughts??? - adobe flash player is not working safariIf you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a 'missing plug-in' error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences.. ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data..
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All..
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text 'Leave the HTML5 Trial.' If so, click that link.
Step 4
a. If you get a warning of a 'blocked' or 'outdated' plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for 'Adobe Flash Player,' showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named 'XProtect.meta.plist'. If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder..
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
Stop plug-ins to save power
Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain 'get.adobe.com'. Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
Step 8
If you get a 'missing plug-in' error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences.. ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
Manage Website Settings..
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
Step 9
Select
Safari ▹ Preferences.. ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them. - I don't understand why this is happening, but Flash Player will not work when a Standard User is using the browser. It will only work when the browser is run as an administrator. Any way to fix this? I've tried to uninstall, and reinstall the player, and it still wouldn't work.
The user is on Windows 7, 64-bit. Using IE 10.

Mozilla has ended or is ending (Mozilla issued one current update for Firefox 48) support their browser on OS X Snow Leopard through OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
It will end with some last version of FF 48.
You can update to the latest FF 48 version and install the latest Adobe Flash Player.
OR
Do a search for Mozilla's Firefox ESR program. It is a slightly older version of FF (FF 45.x) and is a security update version only of FF.
Disregard all of the enterprise and educational institutional stuff.
You can download, install and run the Firefox ESR versions.
Adobe Flash Player
You can still use the latest Adobe Flash Player, but Mozilla is not offering anymore feature updates for FF users still on 10.6-10.8.
Only security updates until April 2017.
Your only other option for a web browser that is still supported for OS X 10.6-10.8 and later is SeaMonkey.
Do a search for the
Adobe Flash Player For Mac Os Sierra
SeaMonkey project
I don't have any links handy.
